The Harrisburg Area Chamber of Commerce has a new website. www.harrisburgchamber.comThe Chamber’s Community Directory will help you find services offered right here in Harrisburg and the Chamber’s Community Calendar is the place to go to stay informed about Harrisburg events.
There are benefits for all kinds of organizations.
Non-Profit Membership is for churches, government, civic and non-profit organizations. Churches can post their revivals and special events on our Community Events Calendar. Clubs can easily let everyone know about their group and list a meeting schedule. List your website and drive visitors to your own site or use the provided Traffic Catcher Site to tell others about yourself.
Home-Based Business Membership is for those who sell products or services from home. This is a great tool for people who sell Avon, Pamper Chef or other products. You can set up your own Traffic Catcher Site to let people know about your products and how to contact you.
We have two categories for Businesses. Small Business Membership is for business with less than 10 employees and Corporate Business Membership is for those businesses with 10 or more employees. Many people don't realize how many business around town have their own websites. There are all different kinds of sites. There are websites for the major store chains. These sites have information about special promotions and even have coupons you can print at home using your own printer. They are great for people like me who clip coupons from the paper but can't remember where I put them.
Some websites are for businesses like PC Solutions, the small local business. They provide information about the business and the services or products that are offered. It gives us local owners a web presence which is very important because to many folks you don't exist if you can't be Googled.
There are also websites for the banks in town too. I love these sites. I can go online to pay bills, see if a check has cleared or find out if I need to rush to the bank with a deposit. Many don't know it but Poinsett County has a website with all kinds of information. You can even pay your County taxes online. How about that? You don't have to stand in line at the last minute to pay your taxes - you probably will, but you don't have to.
Some exciting news is that The Modern News has a brand new website. It is a digital replica of the printed weekly newspaper. You can thumb through the pages from anywhere. It is really cool to see our small town paper on the world wide web. It is free to access for the month of January and a small fee after.
Several churches and organizations in town have websites. These sites list events and information so that groups can stay informed. They are great for those who live in town or those who have moved away but like to stay connected.PC Solutions has a page on our website called Local Sites. We keep this updated with links to the local websites we know about. We love to hear about local business and organization sites to add, so if you have a website you would like added you can contact us.
